Paemanu: Ngāi Tahu Contemporary Visual Arts (Paemanu Charitable Trust) pursue a vision to cultivate a vibrant Kāi Tahu visual culture for future generations by exploring Kāi Tahutaka through contemporary visual art.
 

Paemanu is proud to support the 'Paemanu Summer Art Residencies' programme which has completed its second iteration thanks to The Ngāi Tahu Fund.

It is the aim of these residencies for artists to deepen whakapapa connections, with hapū and marae, to meet with kaumātua and cultural experts of those communities. This is a self-directed project, the residencies will provide opportunities for research and development which should enrich your practice.

Individual or collaborative expressions of interest are welcome.

When applications open (usually September) in the third itertion we encourage you to apply for this opportunity as a Ngāi Tahu artist this could forge lasting relationships for you and your mahi toi(art practice).
A panel of trustees and senior arts practitioners assess the applications to award the residencies (usually at the end of September.)
